Founders Week
During this Founders week I learned more about the start of the Sisters of Notre Dame that tthen leads to the start of the very school I attend and the many more like it.
The start commenced with the sister St. Julie Billiart who was actually born in Cuvilly Franee
At a young age she felt this pull and guidance to wanting to do good and always hard and
made known her love for god. At a young age julie was stunned after her family was attackd
by thieves, this traumatic event traumatized her to the point of paralysis. She was the paraled
for 22 years but that did not keep her from teaching others not just the word of good but alo
teaching others the basics one would learn in school. She then did her best to try to help tech
others, but that was not the only thing. Even though she was paralyzed that did not keep hr
from speaking out about the corruption that was present not just in her government but alsoin
her church. Because of her outspoken behavior that lead to her becoming a most wanted.
Eventually Pushing her to hide out places and training hidden in hay stacks. She eventually
crossed Francoise Bil de Bourdon’s path. Francoise was a wealthy noble lady who’s family
would give to the fortunate. Comeong from a good background like that she was allowed to
develop a strong relationship with god. During this time in France the revolution was at its k.
The people were revolting, they gelatined the king louis and queen Marie Antoinette. The
people were set to gelatin all the noble and upper class people, leading to the imprisonmenf
Franciose.A day before her scheduled Gelatin the revolution stopped and she was let go,
leading to her crossing paths with Julie. Resulting in a friendship that later turned into the
creation of the congregation of Notre Dame.
